Opsgenie Alerts

What the Opsgenie channel does

The Opsgenie channel creates alerts through the Opsgenie Alert API whenever a check fails, runs degraded, or an SSL certificate is about to expire. When the check recovers, LoadFocus closes the alert automatically, so your Opsgenie alert list reflects what is actually still broken.

Get the API key from Opsgenie

  1. In Opsgenie, create an API integration (Settings, Integrations, add an API integration).
  2. Copy the integration's API key.
  3. Note which region your Opsgenie account lives in, US or EU; the API endpoints differ.

Add the channel in LoadFocus

  1. Go to the Alert Channels page.
  2. Click New Alert Channel and choose Opsgenie in the channel list.
  3. Give the channel a name, paste the API Key, and pick the Region (US or EU) that matches your account.
  4. Click Save Configuration.

Right after the channel is created, LoadFocus sends a one-time confirmation notification so you can verify delivery. There is no separate test button.

Attach it to your checks

The channel is available to your whole team. Select it in a check's notification settings to route that check's alerts to Opsgenie, see Alert Channels on a check. Pair it with retries and alert thresholds to keep flaky-network noise out of your on-call queue.

Troubleshooting

  • Authentication errors usually mean the region is wrong: a key from an EU account against the US endpoint (or the reverse) is rejected. Switch the Region selector and save again.
  • Make sure the key comes from an API integration; keys from other integration types may not have alert-creation rights.
  • Team members with a view-only role can see channels but cannot create or delete them.
