Email Alerts
What the Email channel does
An Email alert channel sends a notification to an inbox whenever one of your monitors changes state: a check fails, recovers, runs degraded, or an SSL certificate is about to expire. Email is the default channel and the fastest to set up, it needs nothing more than an address.
Add the channel in LoadFocus
- Go to the Alert Channels page.
- Click New Alert Channel and choose Email in the channel list.
- Enter the email address that should receive alerts.
- Click Save Configuration.
Right after the channel is created, LoadFocus sends a one-time confirmation notification to it, so you know delivery works without triggering a real incident. There is no separate test button; the confirmation message is the test.
Use a shared team inbox or distribution list (for example alerts@yourcompany.com) if you want more than one person to receive alerts. Create one Email channel per address you want to notify.
Attach it to your checks
Creating the channel makes it available to your whole team. To route a specific monitor's alerts to this address, select the channel in the check's notification settings, see Alert Channels on a check. Alert channels are shared across LoadFocus services, so load testing and page speed alerts can use the same email address.
Troubleshooting
- No confirmation message arrived: check your spam or quarantine folder, and confirm the address is spelled correctly.
- Allowlist
noreply@loadfocus.comin your mail provider so alert emails are never filtered. - Team members with a view-only role can see channels but cannot create or delete them.
