SSL monitoring with no separate monitor to set up

Every HTTPS uptime and API check inspects the SSL/TLS certificate automatically.

If you already monitor an endpoint over HTTPS, its certificate is covered, with no extra monitor to configure or pay for.

Covered from day one

Add an uptime or API check and certificate monitoring is simply on.

Expiry warnings at 14, 7, 3 and 0 days

LoadFocus warns you 14, 7 and 3 days before a certificate expires, and again on expiry day.

The 14-day window means healthy Let's Encrypt auto-renewals, which renew at around 30 days remaining, never spam you.

Re-armed after every renewal

When the certificate is renewed and its valid-to date changes, the warnings re-arm automatically for the next expiry, with nothing to reset.

Full certificate details on every check

Each check captures validity, issuer, subject, valid-from and valid-to dates, and days remaining.

See at a glance who issued the certificate, what it covers and exactly when it expires.

Spot problems early

An unexpected issuer or a shrinking days-remaining count shows up in your results before users see an error.

Alerts where your team already works

Check failures alert your team by email, Slack, Microsoft Teams, webhooks, Discord, PagerDuty or Opsgenie.

Checks run from 26 cloud regions, so a TLS problem is caught close to your users, not just from a single location.

No silent expiries

Expiry warnings reach the channels your team already watches, in time to renew calmly.

Frequently asked questions

What is SSL certificate monitoring?

SSL certificate monitoring automatically checks the SSL/TLS certificate on your HTTPS endpoints, tracks its validity, issuer and expiry date, and alerts you before it expires.

When am I warned before a certificate expires?

You get warnings at 14, 7 and 3 days before expiry and on expiry day itself. We use 14 days rather than 30 because healthy Let's Encrypt auto-renewals happen at around 30 days remaining, so a 30-day warning would fire on every certificate that is renewing perfectly.

Do I need to set up a separate SSL monitor?

No. Certificate checks ride every HTTPS uptime and API check automatically, so any endpoint you already monitor over HTTPS has its certificate covered.

Is SSL monitoring free?

Yes, the free plan includes 10 monitors at 5-minute frequency and 10,000 checks per month, with certificate checks included on every HTTPS monitor. Paid plans check every minute.

What certificate details are captured?

Every check records validity, issuer, subject, valid-from and valid-to dates, and the number of days remaining until expiry.

What happens after I renew a certificate?

When the renewed certificate goes live and its valid-to date changes, the expiry warnings re-arm automatically, so you will be warned again ahead of the next expiry. For a one-off instant look at any certificate, try the free SSL Checker at /ssl-checker.
