Load testing for ecommerce
Before the sale, not during it.

An online store fails in the one hour it cannot afford to. LoadFocus lets you put sale-day concurrency through checkout while there is still time to fix what breaks.

Checkout is where the money and the risk both are

Traffic spikes are survivable. Checkout falling over during a spike is not, because it converts every visitor into a lost sale and a support ticket at the same time. And checkout is precisely the flow that is hardest to test, because it spans payment, inventory and session state.

Preparing for a peak

Model the spike, not the average

Test at the concurrency your worst hour brings, not your typical one. A store sized for the median falls over on the day that matters.

Test the whole purchase path

Multistep checks chain requests and carry data between them, so add-to-cart through payment is exercised as one flow rather than as unrelated endpoints.

Keep watching the revenue pages

Product and category pages earn the traffic. Scheduled speed checks tell you when one of them slows down, which on a store is a conversion problem before it is a technical one.

Ecommerce performance: FAQ

When should I run a load test before a sale?

Early enough to fix what it finds. A test the week before a peak leaves time to act; a test the night before mostly tells you what is about to happen.

Can I load test checkout without placing real orders?

Test against a staging environment with the same shape as production. That is the usual approach, and it avoids polluting inventory and payment records.

What breaks first under load on a store?

Commonly the database and the session layer, because both are shared across every shopper. Testing tells you which, and guessing does not.

Does page speed really affect sales?

Speed affects whether people wait, and Google assesses Core Web Vitals from real-user data. Rather than argue the general case, measure your own pages and watch what changes when they get faster.
