Monitoring for IT managers
Find out before your users tell you.

The worst way to learn a system is down is from the person who depends on it. LoadFocus watches your services from outside on a schedule, tells the right people, and gives everyone else a page to check instead of calling.

Every outage costs twice

Once in the downtime and once in the interruption: the messages, the ad hoc status updates, the same question asked eleven times. Detection and communication are separate problems, and most teams solve neither until an outage forces it.

Reducing the noise around an outage

Watch from outside the network

Checks run from cloud regions rather than from inside your own infrastructure, so an outage that takes out the network does not also take out the thing meant to notice.

Route alerts once, properly

Send failures to the channel your team already watches and use retries and thresholds so a transient blip does not become a false alarm nobody trusts.

Publish a status page

A public page with live status and 90-day uptime answers the question before it is asked, and lets people subscribe rather than ask again.

Where to go next

Monitoring for IT teams: FAQ

How quickly will I know about an outage?

As fast as your check frequency, subject to any retries you configure. Retries trade a little detection speed for far fewer false alarms, which is usually the right trade.

Can I monitor internal services?

Checks run from public cloud regions, so the endpoint needs to be reachable from the internet. TCP monitors cover non-HTTP services that are exposed.

How do I stop alert fatigue?

Use retries and alert thresholds so a check must fail repeatedly before it pages, and schedule maintenance windows so planned work does not alert at all.

Can non-technical staff see service status?

Yes. A status page shows live status and 90-day uptime publicly, and can be served on your own domain.
